St Dominic’s Catholic College expects a high standard of behaviour from staff, pupils and community volunteer coaches and managers in developing a friendly and supportive environment around our sports teams and individual athletes. This expectation of high standards of behaviour extend to parents and guardians, family, friends and other supporters. Our coaches, managers and players are expected to agree to, follow and promote codes of conduct.  St Dominic’s Catholic College expects parents and guardians to follow the following code of conduct and promote these to others supporting our teams.

To the best of their ability parents/guardians will:

  • Encourage their child and other people’s children, for their efforts in sport
  • Display self-control on the side-line and always be positive
  • Watch their child play and let them enjoy the game
  • Insist that their child plays within the rules and respects all officials and team members
  • Make an effort to understand the rules of the game
  • Respect the child’s efforts regardless of the result
  • Respect and show appreciation to people who volunteer their time so their child can play
  • Remember children play sport for their own reasons
  • Be a positive role model
  • Never place undue pressure on their child to play or perform
  • Conduct themselves in a respectful and supportive manner
