AUCKLAND REGIONALS ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2021 Auckland Regional Dragon Boat Championships  will go ahead as planned on Saturday 13th March (schools day on 14th March).

Auckland entered into Alert Level 3  – Sunday, 28th February – at 6am, while the rest of New Zealand moved to Level 2 following the discovery of 2 community cases. This will remain for a period of 7 days. Auckland will then inevitably move into Alert Level 2 for a short period of time.

The Auckland Dragon Boat Association have considered the information available and decided to go ahead with the Auckland Regional Championships as planned on Saturday, 13th March and School’s day on 14th March 2021 at Lake Pupuke.

A contingency date is planned for the week after on Saturday 20th March 2021  and Schools on Sunday 21st March 2021.

Events for over 100 people are not permitted under Alert Level 2, so we will continue to follow the news and advice from the Ministry of Health and provide updates regarding our event as soon as we can. In these unprecedented times, we kindly ask our registered teams to keep both dates available for the regatta, if possible.

In the meantime, stay safe, keep well, support yourself and your teams.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with Mrs Jodi Smith or Miss Townsley: sports@stdoms.ac.nz

If Auckland goes down to Alert Level 2, you will be notified in our daily notices about training next week.
